World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like an ideally rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is generally a good thing but it can also have negative consequences too. In the case of items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them could render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade a helm or chest, it will boost its defense base while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. item upgrader has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with circular arrows within the menu for items. This will roll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character has the more value you can get out of each point of health you possess therefore it is important to improve your armor as much as possible.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain, you can then contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a large group of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.
You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to get around a few monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a table or in an Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll yield when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change its name.
There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. This is the same for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added like the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant such as a tiny thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a brand new trinket. A player can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
